in all honesty I would recommend just jumping straight to Omnitech, and then just downloading the "Carver 5" campaign like I did.

Just based on my assumptions, I would assume that you're trying to run the MC2 and for some reason it's having graphical issues (presumably either driver or client related) or missing windows. I would assume, if you care to, you can most likely find the solution you really need.

If you scroll down this forum, you'll see threads where people are discussing issues like this.

Hard-light is the home for the Omnitech mod (and other mods for games like Freespace 2 etc). even the graphics were fucking up at that point if it wasn't crashing.Īnyways, what I can say is this - check out this forum. and I could never figure out a solution, and when I tried to get MC2 running and port over my campaign there, it just turned into a complete dumpster fire.

hell, I had a similar problem back in December when I tried to record a different campaign in this damn game and one mission kept making the client explode.

Thanks for the comments, I'm gonna finish this series up by the end of the week, so the vids will be piling up in the playlist. Maybe, in a weird way, that takes away from some of the intimacy and maybe even difficulty, but it makes the game simply play a lot smoother and natural. These are just a few of the improvements that Omnitech has over the original game/client. Not to mention, the UI has been completely revamped and streamlined (so less aesthetical, more minimal). Note that the videos are 1920x1080, maybe you weren't watching in HD, I dunno! xD and a lot of the models have been updated (higher polygon counts etc). But of course I could zoom in and show tons of detail on the mechs, etc. In other words, things look worse or smaller and less detailed most of the time in the missions, because I'm actually playing the game from farther away than you ever could before in MC2, and in higher resos (practically double) than MC2. not only that, but the zoom ability of the camera was also extended so I am playing very zoomed out in comparison to MC2, in fact I think I am zoomed out farther than MC2 would allow a lot of the time in the videos. in the original MC2, the resolutions that were supported by the game were much smaller than modern game resolutions. Remarius, I thought about it for a bit and here's what occured to me. so try and keep up if you want to feel nostalgic about MC2, or if you just want to watch & listen to one of the greatest MechWarriors of all time do his thang in a different BT game!Īny comments, concerns, criticisms, or suggestions - don't hesitate to post! Thanks for checkin out this thread! I doubt anyone will catch all the way up to the 'current' mission I'm actually on, cuz I'll be posting missions to the playlist all week long.

Anyways, I'm only through the first act of the game, so the series isn't anywhere near finished, but it will be very soon cuz I'm a pro gamer of course. The campaign is the exact same way it was in MC2, just more difficult. (Here is an external link to the entire series playlist)īasically each episode is one mission, unedited, including the Mission Briefing and Logistics screens before the missions start (mech buildin baby, yeahhhh). So without further ado, I present to you Diz errr Soy plays MechCommander Omnitech! I could never fix it! So even though I had a plan to showcase my epic MechCommander 2 skills, I was never able to finish because the damn save file kept crashing over and over due to some random bug.Īnyways, I've downloaded an updated version of MechCommander Omnitech, and rather than some random dude's custom campaign, I decided to play the original vanilla campaign (aka 'Carver 5') from MC2. A little less than halfway through the game, I reached a mission that kept bugging out. Well, last time I tried to play and record this game, it was in a custom campaign.
